Yellow belt! Made it!

We nailed it! Thirty classes later* with a decent amount of Chon Ji pattern practice, my son and I are yellow-belted and ready to pick up Dan Gun and work toward yellow-green belt.
The actual test wasn’t terrible. There was a board break where we had to use our step-behind side kick, and then some light two-step sparring. Finally, we did the aforementioned Chon Ji twice. It was fairly painless.

*…and substantially more sore in the groin region. Like constantly. The stretches for the kicks are no joke. There’s a soft expectation that you should eventually be able to do the side splits. Why? To be able to do the type of kick shown here.
