Some random green-stripe TKD stuff
The Do-San pattern so substantially harder than Chon Ji and Dan Gun, but it’s not impenetrable. I think the challenge boils down to the logic breaking down.
There’s still a semblance of mirror images, but they’re not as simple anymore. Where you could previously lean upon an extra three repetitions for a lot of moves in Chon Ji, for example, Do-San demands a lot on different actions.
In terms of the other stuff, not much seems added. Backfists, spearhand, and wedging block. We haven’t done much of that in practice. What we have done a lot of, though, is the L stance to walking stance transitions, and those have been opened up to green stripes.
The key thing that green stripes don’t get to do yet in our dojang: back kicks. Those have been a consistent aspect of practices that are not yet in play.
Pretty flashy, right? We’ll be able to start doing that in about another three months. Looking forward to it.
